 This position contributes to Starbucks' success by providing and supporting technology solutions that support the retailer's inventory management initiatives. Systems Analyst II - Business Technology, Design and Quality Assurance - You will design and implement technology and process solutions that create key business functions that enable strategic initiatives and operational improvement. This position requires experience in requirements analysis, solution design and process improvement, as well as the ability to collaborate across  IT and business functions. Providing new technology and improving/supporting existing systems, the effective Systems Analyst II provides relevant technical, operational and process knowledge to ensure  consistent user technology.

Summary of key responsibilities

•  Responsibilities and key tasks include, but are not limited to
•  Solution design
•  Collect, analyze and document solution requirements.
• Facilitates the creation of user stories and backlog management in an agile delivery environment.
•  Uses LEAN techniques to design business processes and improve operations through process redesign.
• Supports the design of solutions using user-centered design techniques. 
• Effectively evaluate opportunities for improvement  (productivity/efficiency gains,  savings, etc.)
•  Uses agile delivery methods and participates in scrum teams in implementing solution delivery projects. 
• Considers the general technological experience of the user  in the thoughtful design of interesting solutions.

  System setup and testing

•  Performs application specification (ie, creates attributes, workflows, and UI changes) to support solutions delivery initiatives. 
• Supports data analysis and transformation. Performs data extraction, loading and validation of transformed data. 
• Supports solution testing  by developing test plans, preparing test environments, performing test execution, and validating test results.
• Uses sql queries to support data validation  and data test results.

  Production support

•  Provides rotating on-call support for critical systems.
•  Direct system support, operational issues and escalation to teammates based on priority and required expertise, completing resolution within SLA.
• Develop systems skills and develop subject knowledge through root cause analysis.
• Coordinate problem resolution with vendors and/or cross-functional teams.
• Provides timely and thorough communication with end users and team regarding problem status/resolution.
•  Create and maintain system documentation (e.g. Confluence, knowledge base articles)
•  Develops and facilitates systematic training. 
• Uses query tools (DBeaver, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.) to write/perform ad-hoc queries for data analysis.
