 What you do:

  •  You will assist in the preparation, coordination and review of information and activities related to quarterly filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC"). These primarily include Forms 10-Q and 10-K, but also others if necessary.
  •  You will ensure that the above disclosures comply with SEC and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) requirements, including XBRL identifiers.
  • You will help coordinate the review and approval of 10-Q and 10-K filings with key stakeholders, including Yelp's senior management, external auditors, internal and external legal counsel, Yelp's disclosure committee and audit committee. You will support the Investor Relations team by providing timely and accurate financial information, reviewing key performance indicators and providing other insights as part of the process of communicating Yelp's results in the quarterly shareholder letter.
  • You will research relevant accounting literature and provide technical notes and guidance to ensure 
  • Yelp reflects all changes in the US. in accordance with  GAAP. This includes researching and evaluating new accounting statements affecting Yelp, managing the implementation project of these new standards, and communicating the results of those findings to management, business partners and auditors.
  • You  provide technical accounting guidance for other projects or non-standard transactions such as  acquisitions or divestitures, goodwill impairment analysis, segment reporting, investments, equity adjustments, etc.
  • You will ensure adherence to Sarbanes Oxley ("SOX") compliant policies and procedures. Also, contact both internal and external auditors to coordinate SOX testing and ensure  any issues identified are addressed and resolved.
  • .You will assist and lead a variety of other projects, including SOX-related projects such as the implementation of audit flowcharts or other new system implementations that impact SOX or SEC reporting. 
  • You will monitor and manage the timeliness of submissions to auditors (PBC list) for  external financial reporting audits and SOX related requests and communicate with and resolve auditors as they arise. 
  • You will be a key business partner, collaborating with relevant cross-functional stakeholders including the wider accounting team, FP&A, Investors, Legal, Tax etc.
  •  You guide at least one or more accounting specialists in the performance of  their tasks, including setting goals, career guidance, evaluating their work and giving feedback, etc. Assist in  preparation/review of regular accounting entries and reconciliations as required. This may include, among other things, controlling the accounting of activated software development, inventory compensation.
  •  You  work with different special projects and ad hoc analyzes according to the task.

 What it takes to succeed:

  •  You have a B.S./B.A. Education in business management, accounting, etc. A CPA requires at least 6 years of  experience in the field
  •  You have experience preparing SEC filings for a publicly traded company (either from an audit background or working in-house). You preferably have Big
  •  experience in public sector accounting. You have  excellent knowledge of US GAAP and accounting research methods. Ideally, you will have experience working with Workiva's (Wdesk) SEC filing program.
  • You know SOX and communicate with external auditors.  You have strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills. 
  • You show great attention to detail.  You are a self-starter and have the ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced, fast-paced environment. 
  • You have a proven ability to work across multiple departments with a diverse staff to solve problems and achieve results. 
  • You have excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. You have strong analytical skills and the ability to monitor and effectively implement process improvement. 
  • You have the ability to delegate and lead, demonstrating a team-oriented mindset.
