 This role serves as a cloud engineer (Microsoft Azure) and subject matter expert. This role works directly with administrators, architects, engineers and developers - delivering practical technical cloud solutions. The position requires hands-on technical planning and implementation of infrastructure solutions in the Microsoft Azure cloud environment. The role  also aims to ensure that solutions built for Microsoft Azure are compatible and compatible with other public, private or hybrid cloud solutions (as appropriate) and meet the client's architectural requirements. •  Prototyping potential features.
•   Improves automation of applications, systems and platforms and identifies opportunities for process efficiencies and continuous  improvement.

• Plans and directs activities that align short-term goals with long-term initiatives and provide accurate and timely estimates of work distribution schedules.
•   Influence and promote the implementation of best practices and high quality standards across the division.
•   Integrate different solution components across multiple platforms using industry standard interfaces.
•   Tests and resolves issues, performs root cause analysis, identifies deficiencies, recommends solutions and preventative measures, and directs team members to solution delivery plans.
•   Test concepts and use diagnostic/debugging skills to solve current challenges in cross-platform systems
•  Organizes system additions and/or improvements.

•  Provides technical guidance in application implementation, strategic planning, documentation requirements, tool implementation, database queries and programming languages.
•   Uses  expertise to support industry standard source control and source change  techniques. 
•  Presents technical plans and solutions to executives, management and other audiences to achieve consensus and/or project approval.  
• Provides technical guidance in the implementation of cloud applications using cloud technologies (PaaS, IaaS), database query languages ​​and web programming languages. 
•  Leads technical expertise in solving complex  cloud solution problems.
• Works closely with cloud infrastructure teams, architects, developers/QA and engineers to design, deploy and manage secure, scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure environments.
•  Propose and implement cloud infrastructure and automation to increase efficiency.
•  Develops control rules and manages resources such as Azure Load Balancers, VNets, subnets, resource groups, and network security groups. 
• Solves highly technical and complex problems across multiple projects and provides consultative support to internal staff.
•  Monitors and manages Azure load balancers, VNets, subnets, resource groups, and network security groups.
• Manages and fixes platform-related issues and supports patching the operating system of the Azure DevOps environment.
• Implements, configures and documents a DevOps CI/CD pipeline.
•  Cost optimization using cloud resources (sleep/shutdown) to improve financial efficiency. 
• Monitors, alerts, logging and analytics use appropriate Azure  tools. 
•  Monitors third party services and tools provided by Costco for networking, computing and storage.
•  Create, manage, and maintain an operations manual that includes standard operating procedures, configurations, doctrines, root cause analysis, diagnostic steps, and solutions to resolve future incidents. 
•  Assists, manages and monitors Azure backup and recovery processes.
•  Document the base level of Azure operational services.
•  Communicates with business customers to  define system scope and objectives.
•  Performs data modeling, configuration, specification development, coding, testing, and documentation.
•  Plans cloud capacity and implements cloud application security best practices.
• Consult on concept testing and advise on how best to use  Azure services to solve current challenges.
•  Oversees the completion and implementation of cloud system upgrades and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or customers. 
• Works on documentation of new or existing cloud systems. 
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned (eg Microsoft Azure). 
• Participates in special projects when necessary.
• Works closely with the PMO to cover and execute the next iteration.
• Identifies automation tools that automate build and release pipelines to improve the speed and reliability of the release process.  
• Provides version control, which increases code traceability and reliability when tracking code development.
• Facilitates post-release retrospective.

 REQUIRED

• 3-5 year old scripts to automate work tasks. 
• Ability to train and lead multiple team members on multiple concurrent projects.
• Knowledge of cloud methods.
• Passion for cloud technologies.
