 Duties of a DevOps engineer include automating software, deploying systems and infrastructure. This role manages various development, test, production and demo environments (code deployment, backups, data updates) and deploys and maintains software in Costco environments using as much automation as possible. The DevOps Engineer is responsible for  the continuous development of technology in a collaborative and creative agile environment, using many of the latest technologies and industry best practices, and finding better and more efficient ways to deliver solutions that meet business goals. A DevOps engineer oversees codes, combining both design and code understanding. From building and deploying system apps to analyzing data to improve existing software, a DevOps engineer increases productivity in the workplace. They understand the software development lifecycle and have a clear understanding of various automation tools for developing digital pipelines (CI/CD pipelines).

 ROLE

•  Designs, develops, maintains, documents and deploys complex Azure infrastructure environments.
•  Maintain, extend and build automated continuous improvement (CI) and continuous deliveries (CD).
•  Build deployment automation with configuration as code to provision Azure cloud services/infrastructure in both non-production and production environments.  ● Best design practices are adopted to deliver higher quality and scalable solutions. 
•  Follows documented standards and best practices.
•   Works in an agile environment, collaborating with Operations, Development and QA functions to develop solutions and systems that are prone to scalability, security and simplified maintenance.
•  Designs, develops, documents and deploys complex environments for our business partners, suppliers and teams. 
•  Builds innovative automated solutions to migrate legacy systems and processes to the cloud.  ● Provides technical advice to our companies, suppliers and project teams. 
•  Develops and documents standards and best practices and mentors junior engineers.
•  Solves complex problems creatively and effectively, tailored to the needs of each client.
•  Provides applications for virtualized or container-based platforms on Linux/Windows systems.
•  Integrate into operating systems and infrastructure systems, including SQL, messaging tools, and application code. ● interprets complex issues and  communicates them clearly to others.
•   Stay current with existing and emerging DevOps technologies and tools.
•   Monitors formal structures and resolves infrastructure issues.
•  Uses tools such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, Jenkins, Puppet, Azure Test Labs and Git to improve and accelerate our products and services. 
•  Participates in release processes and contributes to tool improvements. 
• Make each team self-sustaining by providing tools and training, and bring diverse teams together to work toward common goals. 

 REQUIRED

•  3 years of experience with automation and orchestration tools/technology (Azure DevOps, Terraform, Jenkins, Git, etc.). 
•  Experience supporting, maintaining and monitoring data pipelines (live and batch). 
•  Strong scripting skills (Powershell, Bash, Python, etc.). 
• Knowledge of XML, JSON and Terraform HCL. 
• Knowledge of agile methodologies (scrum, kanban).
•  You must have a high level of integrity, responsibility, a positive attitude and a willingness to do whatever it takes to make the team successful.
•  Must be highly responsive, able to work under pressure in a crisis situation and a  sense of urgency.
•  Responsible, conscientious, systematic, proactive and able to work with limited supervision.
•  Proven experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.  
• Must be detail oriented and possess strong problem solving skills and the ability to proactively analyze  potential future problems.
• Able to support after-hours work as needed, including weekends, holidays and 2/7 on-call.
