This job contributes to REI's success by developing and implementing marketing planning strategies, coordinating marketing activities and processes, and measuring and analyzing marketing performance. The DVP of Marketing Operations leads administration, processes and manuals including resource allocation (capacity/people), budget management, planning and reporting/analysis.
This manager is responsible for modernizing marketing capabilities, including MKTG spend planning and forecasting, identifying and implementing technology and tools to improve overall efficiency of investments and resources. This DVP oversees teams such as marketing planning and analysis, project management, marketing technology and program management of marketing operations. Collaborates with and influences digital, retail, marketing, sales, finance and customer expertise to align strategies, goal setting and reporting. Model and act according to REI's guiding values and mission.
As a member of the leadership forum, develops a deep understanding of the company's strategies and priorities, communicates effectively and broadly supports their implementation. Translates corporate strategies into actionable departmental plans and executes successful delivery. Interacts across departments to drive the execution of specific departmental and corporate strategies, initiatives and projects. Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a success attitude, trust in leadership and teamwork to achieve business results. Supports the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods and policies to promote REI's core messages. Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results. Ensures employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements. Manages the training and development of directly and indirectly managed employees and makes effective personnel decisions. Conducts and ensures completion of performance reviews. Provides leadership, direction and guidance to staff to achieve departmental, company and customer outcomes. Create and maintain visibility within the department. Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variations and problems and takes necessary actions.
