The Program Manager, Inflight Safety Assurance and Strategy is responsible for working closely with IFS Health, Safety, Security, and Wellness (HSSW), divisional and cross-divisional stakeholders on short, medium, and long-term initiatives. The Specialist will focus on opportunities that bring benefit and efficiencies to the safety organization based on Safety Assurance activities and HSSW mitigations. You will communicate concisely and professionally to ensure IFS leadership is aware of impact and potential hurdles at any given time. Work closely with the HSSW analytics team to identify safety assurance opportunities and/or new topics to analyze to help with strategic initiatives.

  •  Supports Safety Management System and#0;SMSand#1; within the division
  •  Works within the division and cross-divisionally to manage the lifecycle of new ideas from the planning phase to completion
  •  Works closely with all stakeholders of the IFS HSSW team and other divisional stakeholders (e.g. Onboard Service, In-Flight Learning, etc.) on a regular basis
  •  Supports team members across numerous safety initiatives
  •  Identifying scope, resources needed, effected systems/workgroups, potential leverage of existing data sources, and potential timeline of short- and long-term deliverables
  •  Responsible for driving initiatives to completion and potential maintenance/continuous improvement as needed
  •  Responsible for identification of SMS triggers and identifying hazards through safety assurance
  •  Monitor mitigations identified through the Safety Risk Management
  •  Conducts data collection, reporting, and analysis to support IFS and cross-divisional initiatives
  •  Supports leading effort to build and implement artificial intelligence, predictive analytics and machine learning models related to safety performance and injury/incident prevention
  •  Coordination across workgroups from planning, development, and implementation adoption to achieve optimum results
  •  Actively reports out on project or initiative status and sets realistic expectations
  •  Attends internal IFS and cross-divisional meetings and collaborates on initiatives on behalf of IFS HSSW
  •  Handle a multitude of deliverables and prioritize appropriately
  •  Identify inefficiencies and develop plans to further safety strategy and partnership across the division as well as with stakeholders in other divisions
  •  Maintain a positive attitude, be a team player, and welcome change as needed, as team coordination is imperative to success
  •  Identify new and innovative ways to handle responsibilities and think outside of the box
  •  This position will also perform other administrative and operational functions as delegated by the by the Manager, IFS HSSW Safety Assurance, Data Analysis, and Risk Management, as well as from other IFS leadership roles

 WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)

  •  Candidates for this position should have at minimum aUndergraduate degree in safety, business, statistics, analytics, or other related field or 2 years of relevant work experience
  •  Must possess strong organizational, decision-making, and administrative skills, and be capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously
  •  Must be proficient in use of MS Office products (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.)
  •  Perform with a high level of accuracy and able to work in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  •  Open to learning new skills on the fly as the operation/job requires
  •  Demonstrate personal initiative and have the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines
  •  Have good written and oral communications skills and be able to communicate effectively to multiple audiences
  •  Ability to work with flight attendants as well as all levels of leadership
  •  Must be able to develop a vision, strategy, and objectives for a team and easily work with peers to accomplish objectives
  •  Ability to adjust to shifting priorities on a regular basis and ask the appropriate questions to ensure full understanding of the task at hand
