 This position reports to the Cloud Technology team. 

 In this Cloud Engineer role, you will be part of a talented team responsible for building scalable, secure and highly available cloud services within a hybrid Platform as a Service (PaaS). At the same time, you will gain experience and learn about many other open source products as needed.

•  Your primary role will be to develop technical solutions to enhance  American Express' hybrid cloud platform with a focus on building automation to deliver highly scalable cloud services.
•  Collaborate with the rest of the API design team,  UI design team, QA and product management to build scalable and efficient API and orchestration solutions. 
• Research and implement the latest technologies and libraries that enable lean product development. 
• Implement API/middleware solutions that integrate with NSQL, platforms and partner systems

•  Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar preferred.
•  3 years of experience with all cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Private Cloud)
•  6 years of experience  developing REST APIs using Google GoLang and/or Java.
•   6 years experience in any field of Cloud Design, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Openshift, Docker etc. An outstanding colleague. Good communication skills. 
• Deep understanding of the REST principle as a provider and consumer.  Strong experience with all NSQL databases (CouchBase and ETCD preferred)

 Deep understanding of security integrations - Okta, mTLS, SSO, HashiCorop Vault, etc.  Deep understanding of API Gateway and their functionality. Experience with any container orchestration technology - Kubernetes, Openshift, etc.  Deep understanding of CI/CD process and tools like  Git, Docker, Jenkins, Spinnaker, XL Release etc.  Successful experience developing middleware solutions with a strong focus on code quality, unit testing, integration testing, code quality analyzers and API (Swagger) documentation. You know agile application development methods. General understanding of QE processes.
