 The best infrastructure isn't built in a day or even a year, and it's certainly not built without a team. Here are just some of the things you will do.

•  Participate in the analysis of business, application and technical infrastructure requirements.  Design, build, improve and integrate the infrastructure necessary to support our various platforms and  business portfolios
•  Support initiatives that provide operational end-to-end infrastructure solutions
•  Participates in test planning and execution
•  Plan and implement network solutions for American Express 
•  Acts as a technical expert for American Express data networks including Global WAN, SD-WAN, MAN, LAN and many other technologies and platforms.
•  Evaluate new and emerging products and solutions
•  Ensure new platforms and technologies align with business and IT strategy
•  Assist with network automation projects
•  Provide level 3 troubleshooting and support for critical network issues or outages
•  Train, mentor and coach less experienced colleagues as needed
•  Provide architectural management; review projects to ensure compliance with architectural standards and technical strategy
•  Work with third party suppliers and carriers to ensure quality delivery and compliance with standards
•  Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

 Minimum requirements

•  Bachelor's degree in  Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience in business network technologies
•  7 years  experience  building and supporting enterprise data networks
•  Expert level knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
•  Expert level knowledge of routing, switching and networking technologies such as Spanning Tree, 802.1Q, Port-Channels, 802.1x, QoS, VLAN, SVI and Multicast
•  Special IP knowledge including TCP, UDP and ICMP
•  Strong knowledge of Cisco switching and routing platforms
•  Experience in the following areas:
•  SD-WAN technology and platforms
•  IPSec VPN technology and platforms
•  Public cloud environments such as AWS, GCP and Azure
•  Offers from server-centric space providers (Equinix Fabric, etc.)
•  Web automation and scripting
•  Analysis of packet traces
•  Good knowledge of security infrastructure including firewall concepts
•  Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage workload on multiple projects simultaneously
•  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interact with colleagues, customers and management at all levels 
•  Must be able to work effectively both individually and as part of a team

 Preferred Qualifications

•  F5 Application transfer controls
•  Riverbed WAN Acceleration
•  Certification Requirements: Cisco CCIE or CCNP preferred
