  What you do:

•  Build features based on machine learning, statistical and optimization models developed by application scientists and data scientists. 
• Develop and maintain reliable, scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Work with our ML Platform team to ensure your teams and groups are using Yelp's ML tools effectively and in line with best practices.
•  Help shape the future of ML on Yelp by providing valuable feedback and helping improve tools.
• You lead and manage  software development projects independently.
• Act as a bridge between application and data scientists (who may not have experience building scalable systems) and general background engineers (who may not have experience with ML or other systems based on mathematical/statistical models).

 What it takes to succeed:

•  Several years of experience building machine learning, statistical or optimization-based features, ideally at Yelp scale.
• Python knowledge (including pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost), experience with  Spark, cloud (AWS) and microservices (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of machine learning and modeling is sufficient to understand the work of  applied scientists, but  deep theoretical knowledge is not expected.
• Ability to develop in a fast-paced, high-powered environment.
