  The site's initial focus is building Wayfair's green Omni supply chain platform to expand our innovative large package network that serves our huge market. While this is a huge role in itself, you will work as a senior engineer with high standards of excellence, a strong understanding of  software engineering concepts and the ability to lead by example with a focus on producing quality code and software. models

 What you do:

•  Act as a local technical lead in a critical area, designing and building a platform that interfaces with many different Wayfair systems  and beyond and with partners worldwide.
• Played a key role in developing and driving Wayfair's multi-year supply chain technology strategy 
•  Design and write code to implement high-quality, scalable and future-proof services with effective system constraints that support long-term vision and strategy.
•  Lead technical conversation across the platform and help drive sustainable documented conclusions
•  Lead the development of effective architectural solutions and practices, including creation, design, implementation and delivery according to good design and coding practices
•  Obsessively focus on team production skills including testing, monitoring, deployment, documentation and proactive problem solving
•  Identifying risks and gaps in technical approaches and providing solutions for the  technical vision of the department
•  Influence and contribute to the department's strategy and action plan
•  Support the growth of other engineers through technical mentoring, networking and developing other training opportunities 
•  Be recognized externally  as a collaborative and trusted subject matter expert in the wider team's focus area

What you bring to the table

•  10 years of design experience, preference is given to candidates with both start-up and large company experience
•  Supply chain domain knowledge is a bonus
•  Hands-on experience managing software change at scale in rapidly growing environments
•  Experience in the architecture and construction of large, cloud-based and event-based systems in various projects
•  Excellent communication skills  and a proven track record of promoting the team and the ability to influence results
