The Technology Project Manager supports business and marketing initiatives within the Digital Platforms team. This role will specifically focus on developing southwest.com's desktop and mobile channels. They also work with various business and technology leaders and development units to ensure projects meet business objectives and are completed on schedule and within  budget. The Technology Project Manager is a strong communicator who enjoys working on various projects in a dynamic environment.

Additional Information:

•  This role is offered as a remote job which may require travel to training, meetings, conferences etc.
• Outside of mandatory visits, the majority of work time may be spent at a remote location away from our corporate campus.
• Please note that although this is a remote location, there are a limited number of countries or regions that do not allow employees to  perform their work locally on a regular basis.
• These ineligible locations are: Alaska, Delaware, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.

 Obligations

•  Define complex project plans/roadmaps, including scope, budget and schedule, and perform tasks defined in the project plan to achieve project objectives using standard project management methods and practices.
•  Continually assess project needs and resources  to complete projects on time and on budget while maintaining a log of risks, issues, mitigation strategies and decisions.
•  Driving tests and verification of project results
•  Work with resource managers, business partners and vendors to assemble the project team and provide ongoing motivation to complete projects.
•  Lead and direct project meetings and presentations to Leadership
•  Create and implement a project communications plan to maintain project continuity
•  Leads teams and clients in decision making
•  Create cross-functional alliances inside and outside  the technology department to drive results
•  Create partnerships to collaborate and leverage without authority to gather customer and business requirements and communicate effectively with all project teams and support groups.
•  Collaborate with development teams to ensure work is completed on schedule and follow analytical methods for task completion/tracking and budget/schedule monitoring.
•  May perform other  duties as directed by HR Managers

 Knowledge, skills and abilities

•  Thorough knowledge of project processes, problem management tools and procedures
•  Familiarity with skill development practices and ceremonies
•  SAFe Agile experience preferred. Expert knowledge of application impact on work and business functions
•  You have strong customer service and team orientation
•  Ability to build relationships and influence without authority
•  You can actively listen, present and lead team and stakeholder meetings
•  Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas using all forms of communication
•  Ability to maintain composure under pressure and accurately assess problematic situations
•  Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-based environment, directing teams to complete tasks according to planned completion dates.
•  Management skills to direct the activities of external contractors and maintain positive relationships with internal customers
