 This position is responsible for monitoring and coordinating daily technical operations with limited supervision. This position is also responsible for providing professional technical support in the laboratory.

 OBLIGATIONS AND LIABILITY:

•  Performs all assigned duties in accordance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Responsible for bringing compliance issues to the attention of management.
•  Guarantees high quality customer service for all customers.  Hires, supervises, coordinates work schedules, trains and evaluates  assigned personnel. Effectively identifies and  resolves HR issues.
•  Manages and participates in the preparation and labeling of blood components and laboratory tests.
•  Ensures equipment is properly maintained and maintenance is documented.
•   Reviews and evaluates production and quality control data (eg testing, component preparation, labeling and storage). Ensures timely completion and accuracy of laboratory reports. Performs data entry and record review.
•  Ensures adequate supply of laboratory supplies and reagents.
•  Assists in the reporting and resolution of anomalies (eg errors, quarantines, recalls, equipment maintenance, reagent failures and accidents).
•   Assists in the development and implementation of education and training programs.  Maintains effective liaison with hospitals. 
•  Performs all other duties at the discretion of management as directed.

 STANDARD:

 Knowledge/Training

•  Bachelor's degree in chemistry, physics, biology, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required.
•   New York State (NYS) regulated position requires a bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant clinical laboratory experience. New York State (NYS) inspectors must have a bachelor's degree with 6 years of related clinical laboratory experience. Licenses/certificates
•   Medical technician certification from a recognized CLIA certification body or equivalent is required  for complex testing. preferably BB or SBB. State license (according to regulations).

 Experiences:

•  One year of laboratory work experience is required.
•  Two years teaching experience is considered an advantage. Acquisitions
•  Ability to promote a work team environment and participate as an active team member.
•  Excellent  interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
•  Good management skills and the ability to effectively use and develop employees to accomplish tasks.
•  Ability to analyze situations and take necessary actions that may be under tight deadlines.
•  You will be able to be responsible for the timely quantity of manufacturing components. Ability to understand computer programs and automation of computer equipment.
