Responsible for assisting with planned activities for the systematic implementation of information security, such as information security research, intelligence, verification and/or other project monitoring, including development of standard methods for information security standards and processing of IT controls and compliance with regulatory guidelines.

 Information security incidents/threats

•  act as the front line for American Express, protecting the brand, employees, assets and card users from threats worldwide 2/7/365
•  Minimize the risk of cyber attacks and focus on identifying and responding to threats
•  Monitor, detect and respond to security incidents and breaches affecting AXP worldwide
•  Infrastructure, application and network protection
•  Mitigate risk by quickly identifying and resolving vulnerabilities across the enterprise
•  Provide secure network solutions that enable secure operations and high quality products and services for our customers
•  Protect AXP's data, customers and brand through continuous monitoring and testing of production application environments
•  Data loss prevention

Protect your customers, partners and colleagues from  loss of sensitive data due to normal business processes and/or malicious actors.

•  Track and prevent the loss of sensitive data to the extent permitted by law
•  Management/authentication of identity and user rights
•  Provide centralized enterprise identity and access management products
•  Provide authentication, authorization and full lifecycle management capabilities
•  Mitigate, manage and monitor risks related to identity and access to AXP resources

 Encryption/encryption services

•  Protect all types of sensitive data across all platforms, resulting in brand and data asset protection  and regulatory compliance
•  Provide encryption and key management solutions and manage and operate secure cryptographic platforms
•  Promote continuous improvement of data protection

 Governance, Risk, Compliance

•  Break down traditional boundaries between cyber and IT risk and expand partnerships with IT and  business to reduce risk across the enterprise
•  Modernize risk management by improving tools and process automation; expand  technology risk management capabilities
•  Extend risk management and control expertise from information security areas to IT development organizations and businesses
