Activities

•  Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast and efficient service. 
• Recommends products for sale to the customer and recommends replacements and/or additional products.
• Records the customer's purchases at the designated checkout, collects the cash and issues change upon request; handles cancellations, refunds, rain checks, refunds and exchanges as needed. If possible, take the customer to the OTC aisle  to help find products.  Keeps counters and shelves clean and very business-like, takes inventory and maintains records.
• Enters and evaluates merchandise as needed or as directed by the store manager or shift manager.
• Performs tasks assigned by the pharmacy manager, staff pharmacist and store manager, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and medication information, ensuring correct data entry, filling prescriptions by searching, counting and dispensing medications, checking medications for accuracy and  possible interactions. .
• Helps pharmacies plan and maintain workflow. Promptly reports prescription errors to the on-call pharmacist  and follows the policies and procedures related to the Company's Pharmacy Errors and  Quality Improvement Program. Reviews and follows Walgreen Co. pharmacy instructions for use. Strictly adheres to  Walgreen Co.'s Good Faith Dispensing Policy. during all applicable prescription dispensing activities. 
• Handles  calls that do not require the personal attention of a pharmacist, including calls to physicians. 
• Processes (corrects and returns) manual requests for third party  prescription services in a timely and efficient manner and performs other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.  Assists and supports the pharmacy department in inventory activities such as ordering, unloading, checking and storing medications.
• Maintains knowledge of corporate asset protection techniques and files claims for excess inventory (item received but not billed), shortages (billed but not received), order errors, or damaged merchandise related to Rx medications.
• Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.
• Builds and maintains displays including advertising, seasonal, superstructures and  merchandise.
• Restores and updates as instructed. Assists in food separation (eg raw and pre-cooked food) and product placement according to regulations/procedures (eg raw and frozen meat on lowest shelves). For consumables, using the first-in, first-out and inventory method helps with inventory turnover. Own working knowledge of store systems and store layout.
• Offers customer service in the field of photography, including digital passport photo service, poster printing and creative machine, sales suggestion of advertising photography products.
• Responsible for online loading duties (tracking orders in the Picture Care Plus app, fulfilling orders (selecting products), delivering orders to customers when they arrive in store). 
• Assists in exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring a clean, neat, orderly  condition and appearance of the store.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with colleagues.
• Performs special tasks and other tasks in accordance with regulations. Education and personal development
•  Earns and maintains PTCB certification through  designated PTCB training program and/or nationally required certification/registration.
• Participates in training and completes PPL certifications required by the manager or prescribed by the company and obtains continuing education credits.
