Full Job Description

Under the leadership of the CEO and consistent with NMCA's Christian mission, the CFO is the CEO's business partner. The CFO is a problem solver and critical leader in an organization. The position is responsible for leading and directing the association's financial strategy, as well as managing the finance and accounting (IT) functions. This position is integral to the operation and oversight of real estate and sites, as well as risk management. The CFO works with the CEO, COO, other key managers and key volunteers to develop new operations and expand or relocate existing branches. The CFO initiates discussions on strategic financial and operational issues; additionally leads and directs key initiatives. The CFO serves as NMCA's representative to various industry boards and the Metro Board as needed.

 Qualifications

 Four-year degree in accounting or finance,  MBA or Master's preferred. 12-15 years of progressive financial management experience, including 3-5 years of experience as a CFO or divisional CFO in a large public or private company. Work experience in the field of IT or its management. Experience in business analysis. The CPA designation is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience managing operations of  multi-location entities in capital planning and real estate development, as well as strategic planning and implementation. In-depth knowledge of accounting fundamentals, financial processes and internal control. Knowledge of capital structure and financing, experience with significant ($10M) long term loans and/or restructuring of such loans. Investment-minded. Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate with lenders, lessors, insurance companies and similar vendors whose work has a financial and operational impact on the organization. Knowledge of insurance programs and policies and risk management strategies/programs. Ability to treat employees positively, emphasizing cooperation and teamwork.  Strong verbal and written communication skills.

 Lead and manage financial reporting and accounting functions for a $60 million organization with multiple locations including two residential camps and approximately 5,000 employees. supervise the SVP Accounting and Finance and the accounting team; responsible for  accounting and financial management, including the monthly closing process, internal control, cash management, short-term investments and short-term loans. Leads the Director of Information Technology (IT) and the team; ensuring that the organization evolves in technology while protecting assets at all levels. Manage real estate and real estate assets and risk management. Overview of the company's balance sheet, capital structure, long- and short-term loans, including bonds, lines of credit, bridging financing and investments; manage the association's ongoing multi-million dollar capital expenditure plans.  Financial Planning and Forecasting: Provide monthly/quarterly reports on the  cash flow of the association. Work with the members of the Economic Development team  to develop long-range financial projections that include expected results of fundraising initiatives. Collaborate with VP-Facilities on investment planning. Support the COO and volunteer leadership of the NMCA Capital Planning Committee.  Management Reporting: Work with the CEO and members of the operations team  to report on the monthly activities of the association, including the budget and the previous year to analyze key deviations. Update year-end association and branch forecast monthly. Provide the Volunteer Treasurer with summary information  for periodic reports to the Board.  Budgeting: Directs the association's effective budgeting process. Continually improve the processes and tools used in these activities with a focus on adding value. Overseeing the preparation of year-end audited financial reports and quarterly reports; control of the  process. Overview of year-end tax return preparation (990); Management of IRS Compliance Issues. Management of the fund's investments, coordination with the investment committee of the association. Insurance and risk management: arranging and negotiating liability and property insurance. Coordinate coverage discussions with  Director of Risk Management.  Lead the association's enterprise risk program  with all parents and volunteer leaders. Collaborate with the NMKY Treasurer, Finance Committee Chair, Audit Committee Chair, Investment Committee Chair, Property and Real Estate Committee and other volunteers in their periodic reports to the NMKY Board. As needed, forwards presentations to branch boards related to union initiatives. Leads the association in  strategic consideration of financial matters, industry developments, significant transactions/negotiations and related matters. Actively participate in the evaluation of strategic issues not discussed above.  Lead all Association efforts in the area of ​​short-term strategic real estate and estate planning, including deferred maintenance, in collaboration with the CEO, COO and the Estate and Property Committee of the Association's Board of Directors. Leads the association's property management and project management teams, creating/maintaining offices that meet the needs of members/program participants and the association's safety, service and security goals. You are responsible for managing the entire property - property, sites and camps.  Provide oversight and budget  for all capital and major maintenance projects, ensuring association standards, with particular attention to interior design, branding and space planning.  Develop and manage the association's deferred maintenance program.  Provide leadership on new developments as it relates to new properties and facilities in collaborative and/or partnership relationships. Initiate proceedings, manage legal and administrative processes, manage real estate sales and acquisition processes, develop presentations and negotiate terms to ensure maximum benefit to the association. Provide leadership for all capital improvement and new development projects to ensure they are on target and all parties are  accountable for results.
