  The Tesla Energy Technical Content team creates and maintains comprehensive technical documentation that supports key stakeholders across multiple product lines and business functions, including energy storage, charging, solar and business support. The team is looking for an Instructional Designer to design, create and share engaging technical content designed to improve the training experience of housing services teams in an energy organization by analyzing training needs, designing solutions to meet learning objectives and creating learning content. which supports key performance indicators.  *This role is full-time on-site at any Energi Training location. Las Vegas (Henderson)  preferred (Draper, UT, San Jose, CA or Buffalo, NY acceptable), ~25% travel/external activities. what are you doing

 what are you doing

•  Proactively collaborate with engineers, program managers and other business partners to analyze performance issues and design, develop and deliver engaging training content to multiple audiences and delivery modes (instructor-led, online, webinar, etc.) with clear strategies and tactics. . achieve the desired learning outcomes based on the latest business needs.
•  Process and create training materials such as e-learning, course tests, training manuals, training videos, certification programs, etc., specifically designed to improve the user experience of various training environments and facilitate knowledge/skills.
• Continually evaluate existing training content and determine if updates or improvements are needed.
• Publish and distribute interactive online courses as a collaborative partner with e-learning developers and multimedia experts. 
• Proactively manage multiple documentation projects/initiatives simultaneously to ensure  priorities are properly addressed  and  all standard team processes are followed.
• Track ongoing product iterations and improvements in regions worldwide to ensure  all information, including region-specific information, is properly documented and socialized in a timely manner. 
• Interact directly with hardware and/or software products  to fully understand how they work to more effectively create content  with a deeper understanding of the  product  in mind.

 what you bring

•  5 years of experience in manual design, technical writing, learning content development, etc., preferably in a high-tech or product environment.
•  Strong understanding  and ability to critically apply basic concepts of education, curriculum development, adult learning theory, etc. in creating training content adapted to business needs.
•  Experience in energy, automotive  or other hi-tech products such as batteries, power electronics, chargers, solar/PV systems etc.
•  Experience creating high-quality content for  internal and external audiences in a fast-paced environment with rapid product iterations and improvements.
•  ability to understand complex technical information and communicate it concisely to a variety of non-technical end users.
•  Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally with multiple teams (engineering, quality, service, marketing, legal, compliance, etc.) toward a common  goal. 
• Proactive thinking, planning future changes in training content and  solutions to problems. 
• Positive attitude and flexibility to frequent changes and inevitable changes in average project priorities.
•  Proficiency or experience using Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, Photoshop, Visio, etc or similar content creation tools.
•  Experience using learning and content management systems and platforms.
