 Support Analysts perform day-to-day tasks necessary to support Costco's development, testing, QA and/or production environments. This includes problem solving and root cause analysis, access rights management and request fulfillment. They interact regularly with business and IT staff. A Support Analyst may also develop, manage, update, document, analyze, and monitor technology systems, including software and hardware, network, configuration management, data, quality assurance, third-party  application support, and general user support.

ROLE

  •  Identifies and resolves problems, often preventing problems before they occur or before they escalate; develop and evaluate alternatives and implement solutions.
  •   Manages cases and tasks by identifying, tracking and directing support, implementation or system issues to  timely resolution.
  •  Document, train, follow, support and improve current processes.
  •   Supports the life cycle of systems and  related components from development to retirement.
  •  Install, facilitate and/or perform QA testing of supported systems. 
  • Develops, uses and maintains tools and scripts to automate deployments, generate reports and meet support needs. 
  •  Leads or participates in project/stakeholder meetings as they relate to: definition and communication of application and support requirements, reporting of requirements and deliverables, analysis and determination of alternative delivery methods, and preparation of project schedules and cost estimates.
  •   Provides direction and/or leadership to customers, teams and other support members on day-to-day operations, project initiatives, implementation activities and support matters.
  •  Performs in-depth analysis to improve system performance, quality and/or efficiency.
  •  Build and maintain effective relationships with  business and IT teams.  Identifies opportunities to streamline and increase efficiency through continuous process improvement.
  •  Establish and adhere to Costco policies, processes, procedures and/or regulatory standards.
  •   Works on the user story and fixes the code as small enhancement requests to solve common problems.
  •  Works with loading and unloading data and tools and utilities  that include SQL configuration, debugging, and fixing  UNIX scripts.
  •  Resolve several Java based microservice applications for reported cases/issues. Supports technical solutions  on time, within budget and with  impeccable  quality and accuracy.
  •  Prepares and submits detailed functional and technical specifications that support operational

requirements. 

  •  Prepares and clearly communicates best practices by which Costco Logistics  can effectively utilize the improvements developed. 
  •  Interacts with other developers, operators, product owners and business solution analysts to ensure  technical solutions are comprehensive and support business needs.
  •  Create and maintain document standards. 
  • Provides end-user communication for critical issues such as service delays/arrival schedule disruptions.
  •  Performs daily system and application health checks  to ensure the application is running smoothly.
  •  Ensures  high accountability by evaluating and responding appropriately  to support  team members. Participates in requirements gathering  to ensure a clear understanding of needs related to the operation and/or reporting of our Costco Logistics field operations. 
  •  Creates and maintains process documentation and participates in the development of departmental standards.
  •  Create workarounds to resolve issues originally reported by team members. 
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations for permanent program changes to resolve problems.
