This position serves as a key operational resource to support ADSIPL in its owned and operated data centers in India. This position provides key ownership and responsibility for mechanical, electrical (MandE) and management of all ADSIPL data centers in India. This position is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of  critical infrastructure supporting IT operations in the data center region of India. It  also includes Incident Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management and Cost/Contract Management. Additionally, it involves managing relationships with  landlords, critical facility providers, data center construction team, data center operations team, technical program managers, security team and logistics team in India. The position requires 2x7 on-call, scheduled weekend  support and alternate shifts. The location of this job is under discussion as there may be opportunities in several locations in India.

 Key responsibilities and SMEs include:

 Use and care:

 · Ownership of all data center changes/incidents/incidents/problems from start to finish and oversight of post-mortem investigations, root cause analysis and follow-up. · Responsible for planning and executing site critical infrastructure or data center maintenance/repairs according to business interests. ·

Responsible for property and inventory management.  ·

  • Develops and maintains method statements, standard operating procedures, emergency  procedures, preventive maintenance programs and all technical documents. 
  • Ensure standardization and alignment with best-in-class  practices. (Technical writing skills and automation)
  •  Develops complete and thorough knowledge of  design intent, operational options and contingency plans related to all data center systems.  
  • managing the technical aspects of data centers related to financial and cost control, code and regulatory compliance, HR management, staff training and development
  •  Health and safety, local legal requirements, environmental and energy management.  
  • Develop and deliver  regular planning reports and ensure delivery of agreed deliverables including SLAs and KPIs.
  • Communicate operating philosophy, specifications, goals and expectations to Amazon employees and supplier critical facility management teams.  
  • If necessary, practical support of the site (e.g. installation of new equipment, dismantling of equipment, replacement of damaged equipment, internal audits, etc.)
  • Oversee technical compliance review and  effective and timely closure of corrective action plans.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews focusing on compliance with  Amazon standards and all applicable regulatory requirements. (Reviews). 
  • Lead the development and delivery of a portfolio of energy/environmental management programs. Stay up to date with data mining industry updates.

 Incident and relief:

  •  Reviewing incident reports, documenting regular trend summaries and providing management with updates and recommended actions. 
  • Information flow management during accidents and regular management updates. 
  • Manage and coordinate with suppliers to resolve potential threats in crisis situations. It may require a physical shipment to the site to investigate and resolve the issue. 

BASIC STUDIES

  •  At least two years of experience in data center operations and security support for data center facilities.  
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (EE, Mech E, Industrial E)
  •   Excellent understanding of the nature of  critical systems (data centers, hospitals, power plants, military installations, etc.).  
  • The candidate must be a self-starter and independent worker.  
  • Ability to solve problems at their root, step back to understand the larger context.  
  • Prior vendor negotiation and management skills for data center and/or  construction contract renewals. 
  • Ability to write and review accurate and complete support procedures, system documentation and issue follow-up notes. 
  • Demonstrates good judgment and instincts when making decisions under pressure.  
  • Ability to prioritize in a complex and fast-paced environment.  
  • Proactively and continuously improve knowledge of Amazon's business and relevant technologies.  
  • Able to demonstrate his ability to take responsibility for technical problems brought  by his clientele
