 Key Functions / Job Description

•  This is a SQL Server DBA role that is largely responsible for providing operational database services to the organization. Some of the key responsibilities of this role  include:
•  Owning, tracking and resolving database  incidents and queries
•  Fulfilling requests and resolving cases within the agreed time frame
•  Daily review of service-related reports (eg database backups, maintenance, monitoring)  to ensure service-related issues are identified and resolved within specified time frames.
•  Responding to database  alerts and escalations and collaborating with the database team to develop strategic solutions to recurring issues and future landscape planning.  This role  also works on projects of affiliated  organizations as needed. 

 Job Description - Requirements

•  3-5 years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server 2012, 2016 and 2019. 
• Experience in troubleshooting and troubleshooting database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and locking issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc. 
• Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, performance monitoring, SQL profiling, extended events and other related monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Experience with backup, restore, recovery models, database shrinking, DBCC commands. 
• Familiarity with SQL Reporting and Integration Services. Experience  with Windows Server including Active Directory and Kerberos. 
• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete them. Excellent communication, written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills

•  Understanding of advanced SQL operations including availability groups, failover clusters (and other H/A methods), service broker, table partitions. MySQL or MariaDB experience in a Linux environment.  Experience with S/
•  HANA DB platform in  Linux environment. Understand PowerShell scripting techniques.  Familiarity with server virtualization technologies, preferably VMWare ESXi.
•  Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Systems Center (SCOM and SCCM), Host Integration Services and PowerShell. 
• Experience with SQL Server Azure services or managing databases on other cloud platforms.
•   MIS or Computer Science degree. Certifications more (MCTS, MVP, etc.)
•  Experience  working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment. 
• Ability to present ideas in usable language. Participating in the Microsoft SQL community, PASS membership, active in newsgroups and blogs.
