 The GABM Director of Operations Excellence role leads the front line of defense operational risk activities for GABM.

  Key tasks of the role include e.g.

•  Promote a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement and ensure the GABM organization meets management evaluation expectations.
• Be a trusted advisor to GABM managers and teams; contributes to the  successful launch of business initiatives by providing strong proactive and investigative oversight
•  Build, manage and develop a diverse team of impressive operational risk professionals. have experience in various operational risks such as control framework,  security, compliance, third party etc. 
• Management of large operational risk programs: New Initiative Approval/Assessment (FIG), Third Party Lifecycle Management, Remedial Actions/Loss Incident Resolution and Process Risk Self Assessment (PRSA)
•  Work with Compliance and the GCO to ensure GABM initiatives and processes comply with applicable laws, regulations and policies using effective monitoring and rigorous testing to demonstrate compliance.  Independently assess operational risks - challenge our historical practices and work with business partners to improve processes
•  By analyzing data and trends, identify trends, themes and trends that indicate emerging operational risks.
•  Communicate effectively with business partners  to get the answers and actions that matter. Make pragmatic business decisions on complex customer/partner issues
•  Represent GABM in relevant government forums, government committees and internal/external reviews. Minimum requirements
•  A strong leader of people  and an excellent teammate with continuous experience in developing team members and creating a highly effective and results-oriented.
•  Strong relationship management and proven ability to positively collaborate and partner with multiple stakeholders
•  Strong knowledge of Amex/GABM/customer business processes, regulations and standards, including infrastructure requirements and related controls
•  Strong customer focus and ability to see things from the customer's perspective
•  Highly motivated self-starter,  sense of urgency, positive attitude and  agile approach - ability to shift priorities according to changing internal and external environment
•  Competencies in working with complex and ever-evolving technology enabled business processes - comprehensive understanding of the inherent risks, dangers and risks of relying on third parties.
• You know how to break down complex problems into root problems and root causes that can be more easily addressed. 
• Ability to prioritize high impact issues and successfully influence without delegating functions and geographies. Previous leadership experience in high-level business, operations, risk management, internal audit, compliance or similar areas and demonstrated experience  working with management at various levels
•  Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, technology or natural sciences. Salary Range: $130,000.00 - $205,000.00 Annual Bonus Benefits (if applicable)
