Our team is responsible for  critical customer journeys including "Pay Your Amex Bill", "Payment Schedule" and "Apply for a Loan". Our goal is to decouple our assets, like our ACH engine and bank validation, and make it easier for everyone else in the business to create a world-class customer experience.

 The main goal is to provide technical expertise, training and tools to ensure the highest  reliability and availability of critical applications. Able to consult and make strategic recommendations, quickly assessing and solving complex availability problems. You are responsible for driving automation, efficiency, quality improvement, availability and security.

 Basic Responsibilities:

•  Product development
•  Enable creation and updating of protocol standards to simplify dashboard creation and ensure protocol availability
•  Follow monitoring requirements to ensure business service level visibility to all support teams
•  Provides guidance to software designers on fault-tolerant design patterns 
•  Communicate effectively with development and operations teams to meet requirements,  SDLC requirements, features and constraints to deliver highly agile applications.

 Automation

•  Responsible for evaluating and implementing instrumentation, automation and tooling solutions to ensure greater accuracy and fewer errors for consistent processes and repetitive tasks.
•  Create, implement and advise on recovery tools to meet company standards and/or frameworks
•  Bring new and powerful technologies to the production support toolchain to help minimize friction in production release and support, and  diagnose and recover from production failures faster.
•  Operational readiness
•  Responsible for availability, proactive monitoring/alerts, capacity planning, performance (reducing latency and increasing efficiency), including technical platform testing 
•  Collaborate with relevant support teams to ensure operational readiness throughout the application lifecycle

 Production support

•  Ensure application data feeds are accurate and up-to-date.
• The goal is to increase the knowledge  of all support teams and improve reliability. 
• Facilitates  non-application troubleshooting (third-party UI issues, infrastructure issues, storage, database, network, file transfer, etc.)
•  Participate in architectural decisions to ensure software event flows are properly supported and designed
•  is an IT infrastructure expert (SME) and works with development teams to create standards that ensure the highest  availability

The extent of the effects

•  Consult with Teams to create standards that ensure the highest  availability
•  Mentor Teams through ongoing development work
•  Work with development teams to adhere to SDLC standards
•  Enablement Center - lead and advise on SRE, working with different teams and providing real-life examples where necessary

 Minimum requirements:

 experiences

•  A lower degree in a related field is considered an advantage; May be substituted for experience in the relevant field
•  8 years of design and/or architecture experience in a complex environment such as: large-scale network infrastructure or development team
•  Experience supporting a business environment 2/7 and on-call responsibility for production support
•  Experience with various software development and operational technologies such as infrastructure, virtualization, load balancing, containers, JVMs, web servers, application debugging, waiting techniques, caching techniques, databases (RDBMS and NoSQL), routing and switching etc.
•  Experience with high-transaction OLTP sites or in the financial services industry is a plus
